Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a first-time appointment?

On my webpage is a link to the Jane App. Click on that and set up your account, which will include your personal login, password, and contact info. You will be able to select how you wish to receive appointment reminders (text, email). It will also ask you to put a card on file; this may be a debit, credit, FSA, or HSA. I use the Jane App for my electronic medical records, it also does my scheduling and billing. I do require a $40 holding fee when someone books their first appointment, this will go towards the first appointment fee. Appointments may be canceled or moved by the patient within their account at any time up to 12 hours before their appointment. Cancellations less than 12 hours before the appointment time will be charged a late-cancel or no-show fee.

If you are struggling to find an appointment time that works for you, send me an email.

What do I need to do before my first appointment?

Please take a moment to complete the intake form online through the Jane App. You will also need to sign all consent forms before your appointment.

What should I wear to acupuncture?

Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. The acupuncturist may need to get to legs, thighs, arms, shoulders, abdomen, and/or the back. You may also bring something along to change into if you prefer. If we are doing moxibustion, your clothes may smell a little smokey after the treatment.

Should I eat before treatment?

Yes, please eat something before you come in. Your treatment will be more effective if you’ve had something to eat. I often say, “it takes qi to move qi”.

What is the cancellation policy?

Patients can cancel or move their appointment up to 12 hours before their scheduled appointment at no charge. You may opt in to receive text and/or email notifications 2 days before your appointment, 12 hours before your appointment, and 2 hours before your appointment. If you cancel less than 12 hours before your appointment, you will be charged a late cancellation fee, which is $40. If you do not show up for your appointment or arrive more than 15 minutes after your scheduled time, you will be charged a no-show fee, which is $40. If you have an emergency or are sick, please send me an email, I will wave the fee on a case-by-case basis.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not accept any form of health insurance, this includes L&I and PIP claims. I am strictly a cash-based practice.

Do you accept walk-ins?

I do not accept walk-ins or same day appointments for new patients, this is to give you time to fill out new patient paperwork and so that I have time to prep for you. If you are a current patient that would like a same day appointment, please reach out via email and I will let you know when/if I have any availability.

Is the clinic fragrance free?

Yes, we are fragrance free. Many people coming into the clinic have chemical sensitivities and may experience adverse effects when exposed to chemical fragrances. Please refrain from using any perfume, cologne, scented lotions, scented hair products, etc. before coming in for your appointment.
